Gotta Have Faith- God using ordinary you to do extraordinary things

So many times in life we are our own worst enemies, and have very little faith in ourselves that we can do great things. But God is the opposite of that, he wants us to have joy in life, and believe in ourselves that we can do extraordinary things.
In the devotional"Right people, right place, right plan", Jentenzen Franklin starts out by saying: "God sees you as extraordinary, and He desires to use you in extraordinary ways. He is searching for men and women who dare to believe tey can make a difference."
Matthew 14:22 is where the disciples were out fishing and they saw Jesus walking on the water. Jesus told Peter to step out of the boat and walk on the water to him. Peter did walk on the water until he looked down at the crashing waves and he started to sink. Jesus of course saved him, and asked him where his faith was.
When we hear that story we always think that peter sank b/c he took his eyes off Jesus and lost faith.
But did you ever think that he might of sank bc he lost faith in himself?Jesus obviously had faith in him b/c he told him to walk on the water.
Well God has great faith in us and wants us to believe in ourselves that we are capable of great things. I mean it says in the bible that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in us!
Well God created us, He wouldnt have if He didnt have faith in us.All the people God used in the bible were ordinary people, and he had faith in them.
So how do we Step out of the boat and take risks?
1.Spend time with God-More time you spend w/God the better you know Him.
2.Set Goals-if you set goals, God will help you reach them.
3. focus-on your strengths, not your weaknesses
4.Attitude Adjustment-prov.18:21/Phil. 4:8

So in closing, 1. where is God calling you to have more faith and take more risks in your life?
2.why would God call you to do something if He didn't have faith in you?

Truth In Silence

Silence isn't always a bad thing.

In fact, it's a good thing, something we should all have in our lives. Everyday we are bombarded by constant noises, from music to traffic to tv. Sometimes we just need to stop, and listen to the silence. It's in the silence that God likes to speak to us. He talks to us, and it is so much easier to hear when it is just silence.

Just try to take a little time out of your schedule to just sit and listen. God will speak in the gentle breeze.

What's Your Purpose?

Have you ever been accused of doing something on purpose, and you said: "I'm sorry-it was an accident!"
Well do you live your life on purpose, or on accident? Well, since i was a young girl, i've felt like God has a big purpose or my life, but am still on a journey to find out what that is. I know i'm not the only one w/these questions. What does God have intended for our lives, and what does He have to say about our purpose?
Well in an awesome book-"Purpose Driven Life", by Rick Warren, he starts out by saying " we were born by God's purpose and for God's purpose. It's not about you. The purpose of yoru life is far greater than your own personal fullfillment, peace of mind, or even happiness. If you want to know why you were placed on this earth, you must begin with God."
1. you must begin w/God. Keep Him in the loop, and let Him direct your life.
Romans 8:28-39
Matthew 22:34-40
Make sure your purpose and everything you're doing leads back to loving God and loving others.
God created us and He knows us better than we know ourselves. We can't tell ourselves what we were created to be.
Kinda like when you see a new invention, you don't know its intended purpose unless you read the owner's manual, or talk straight to the creator.
Only through God can we discover our purpose and identity. All other roads lead us to a dead end.
Romans 8:5-8
God wants a friendship and relationship w/us. Just like Facebook, We need to have that kind of relationship /God.
So after you start W/God, you have to hear from God.
How do we hear from God?
Turn to the bible and see what God says. We have to read the owner's manual. The more time we spend w/God, the easier it is to understand it. We have to build our life on God and His truth.
Ephesians 1:11
In Closing, that verse gives us 3 insights into our purpose

1.start w/God-have a relationship
2.God thought of you before you ever knew He existed. He chooses our purpose. (he cares about what you care about, but He created you and knows what He made you for.)
3.The purpose of your life is to be a part of something huge, bigger than you could ever dream of. Don't ever let anyone tell you any different.

Ask yourself: How can i remind myself that my purpose if really about living for God, and not myself?
